TPC Fax is a free fax service that has been around for years.

"The TPC.INT FAX Server Project is a collection of internet FAX servers providing e-mail to fax service to internet users. All of the FAX servers are run on a voluntary basis; no fees are required to participate."

TPC has been around for years and might fill your needs if you want to send a one time fax or a limited number of faxes. Of course, you cannot be sure of who will read the information in your fax with this volunteer organization. And of course, coverage is limited.

We don't recommend using this or any free fax service for faxes containing sensitive information.

There are a number of websites which offer "sample faxes" or offer to send a free fax in exchange for your email address. We can't in good conscience recommend these sites but you can locate them using your favorite search engine. We remind users that "buyer beware" also applies, or more especially applies, to "free services".

An easy way to send a fax right now is to sign up for one of the free trials with the well known Fax Services? You'll need a credit card but you can cancel the service in a timely manner and avoid charges. Of course, you may find you like the service well enough to keep it - that's why they offer the free trials.
